Inside Sales Representative |
Inside Sales Representative Profile and Description
An Inside Sales representative’s job entails selling or
introducing new corporate products or services to
potential customers and established clients. The customers
communicate with an Inside Sales representative to request
for orders, quotations, and lead times by fax, telephone,
or email. The job entails is to build quotations on
standard products, write orders and communicate pertinent
information on them to customers. The primary duty
involves tracking and following up on the leads, the
organization generates based on web marketing and persuade
the clients to buy the company products and services. A
Inside Sales person’s daily activities include describing
the company product benefits and present special offers;
convincing them for a sales representative visit or to
take a trial period; collecting the information about the
clients and document them; entering the customer details
into computer database, including appointment dates or
calls; taking orders, making arrangements for delivery and
follow up on collections. An Inside Sales representative
handles the project execution actions and overall
coordination between Customer Service/Application
Engineering department and Outside Sales department
Duties and Responsibilities
- Developing and accomplishing a region lead
generation plan, meeting or exceeding monthly or annual
targets.
- Identifying opportunities for sales and effectively
presenting the key features and advantages of the
company products to secure new business.
- Identifying decision makers amongst the targeted
leads in order to start sales process.
- Cooperating with Accounts manager and Sales
Supervisor to determine essential strategic approaches
for sales.
- Maintaining and expanding the database of prospects
of the organization.
- Outbound and inbound account management.
- Supporting the reseller communication channel
throughout the sales interval.
- Attending sales group meetings concerning sales
targets or forecasts, reporting on market situation.
- Handling cancellations or changes in sales order and
communicating the changes with the related departments.
- Coordinating with customer service for status on
orders from related plant departments in ensuring the
delivery commitment to clients is met.
- Collating and consolidating report on monthly sales
performance per sales personnel, per product, per region
or office, and per industry.
- Providing effective product demos for end-user
customers as well as for the resellers.
- Emphasizing service or product features and
benefits, discussing credit terms, quoting prices, and
preparing sales order reports or forms.
- Creating and delivering qualified chances to
Accounts Managers where allowed.
- Capturing of accurate and complete information in
Customer Relationship Management system (CRM).
- Participating fully in training sessions, meetings,
skill building and professional development classes.
- Attending industry conferences to develop industry
expertise and to build network.

in front of customers combining technical knowledge. Our
Application Engineers must be able to articulate
technology and product positioning to both business and
technical users; identify all technical issues to assure
complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the
sales process; and establish and maintain strong

Optical Engineer |
Occupational Summary
Serve as an authority on the company’s technical software
usage, and provide optical engineering technical support
to customers internal and external to the organization.
Provide optical engineering consulting services for the
optical engineering services group.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities
- Field technical questions and provides technical
advice to current and prospective customers, both
internal and external, regarding ASAP software products.
- Ability to master comprehensive technical software
ASAP.
- Understand competitive analysis as it relates to
BRO’s software.
- Maintain and contribute to Application Notes,
software demos and other literature for customers and
sales leads.
- Represent Lanika Solutions at technical trade shows,
answering questions and providing information regarding
software products. May prepare and present
software/hardware demonstrations for trade shows as
well. Travel out-of-state and/or out-of-country will be
required.
- Assist in developing and customizing written text
for technical documentation for ASAP software products
including on-line help, reference manuals, technical
guides, application notes, procedure notes, and
miscellaneous support documentation.
- Develop a working knowledge of in-house customer
inquiry logging software to be used to document
technical support calls.
- Assist in teaching ASAP tutorials at Lanika
Solutions or at customer sites.
- Provide technical support on potential software
sales.
- May be required to publish & present articles for
optical engineering conferences and journals.
- Prepare technical written descriptions of software
products.
- Participate in the planning and development of new
products.
- Provide technical support on consulting contracts.
- Liaison and manage the engineering services projects
Typical Experience and Work
Requirements
To perform this job
successfully, an individual must be able perform each
essential duty with a high level of competency. The
requirements listed below are representative of the

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor Degree
(B.S.) in Optical Science, Physics or other similar
engineering discipline from a four-year college or
university; a 2+ years related experience and/or
training; or equivalent combination of education and
experience. Knowledgeable of optical software package
such as ASAP, ZEMAX, or other comparable package
preferred.
- COMMUNICATION SKILLS: Ability to read,
analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical
journals, and financial reports and legal
documents/contracts. Ability to respond to inquiries
and/or concerns from customers, regulatory agencies,
and/or members of the business community. Ability to
effectively present technical information to customers,
employees, management team and/or board of directors.
- MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to apply
advanced mathematical concepts. Ability to apply
mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency
distribution, determination of test reliability and
validity, analysis of variance correlation techniques,
sampling theory, and factory analysis.
- REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply
principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide
range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to
deal with non-verbal symbolism (formulas, scientific
equations, graphs, etc.). Ability to deal with a variety
of abstract and concrete variables. Ability to make
reasonable business decisions or ask for assistance from
other optical engineers.

Ability to work with other technical & non-technical
individuals in a professional and courteous manner.
Ability to track and communicate progress on customer
projects. Ability to travel, occasionally, both
domestically and internationally to meet with customers
or vendors. Ability to work with changing priorities and
support both customer's software & hardware needs. A
willingness to learn and be mentored by Optical
engineering experts. Experience with CAD software
desirable. Ability to practice safe lifting techniques.
